1. Baylands Park
Baylands Park, located near San Jose, CA, provides over 70 acres of developed parkland offering recreation, pathways and picnic areas for families and large groups. There is an additional 105 acres of wetlands. There is an area reserved for flying drones and remote controlled aircraft, even though the park is considered to be within Class C airspace.
2. Calero County Park
Along the eastern piedmont of the Santa Cruz Mountain Range lies Calero County Park. It’s a wilderness of stupendous attraction for camera drones. Blankets of wildflowers cover the park, offset by the surrounding dense forests and mountainous landscape. Recreational drone users are free to fly around the park’s surreal 4,400 acres of natural beauty.
Calero County Park is part of the Santa Clara County Parks, which means that a permit is required for drone use. There may be costs associated with securing this permit.

3. Ed R. Levin County Park
Ed R. Levin County Park is close to San Jose and the biggest in Milpitas. It’s a hidden treasure concealed in the chaparral foothills. This place is a drone photographer’s paradise, with scenic oak woodlands and smooth rolling hills. There’s also the eye-catching Monument Peak and its valley that leads the eye towards San Francisco Bay. Other attractions are the native wildlife— including over 60 bird species—and several natural ponds.

According to a user submission, a sign has now been posted at the entrace of Ed R. Levin County Park stating that drone use is prohibited. No documentation of this is available online as of last edit for this entry.
4. Joseph D. Grant County Park
Joseph D. Grant County Park spans across 10,882 acres and is the largest of the county’s public recreational areas. Its uncrowded space boasts a rich ecological, cultural history and plenty of attractive assets for visitors. The natural landscape includes Grant Lake, wide-open grasslands, and oak-covered rolling foothills. Drone photographers can add a little life to their footage with the native wildlife, grazing cattle, and horseback riders.
