1. Golden Driller Statue
The Golden Driller Statue in front of Tulsa Expo is a 75-foot tall sculpture that is considered the sixth-tallest statue in the US. As one of the most unique sights in Tulsa, you should not miss the opportunity to photograph it with your drone.
2. River West Festival Park
River West Festival Parks in Tulsa is a staple venue for concerts and festivals, most famously the annual Oktoberfest celebration. As such, it has a very wide riverfront open space that is perfect for uninterrupted drone flight. This park was also the venue of a past Drone Racing League event.
3. Woodward Park
The Garden Center at the Woodward Park make this park one of the prettiest places to photograph in Tulsa. Early mornings are the best times to fly a drone here to avoid the usual crowds. Take note that commercial photography and filmmaking within the park requires a permit.
4. Turkey Mountain
Just a few miles from downtown Tulsa is the rugged wilderness area of Turkey Mountain. There are two trails to the peak, both of which are challenging but should take you less than 2 hours. Drone flight is best done at the peak area to catch the best view of the Tulsa River and surrounding forests. Watch out for strong winds.
5. Swan Lake
The park around Swan Lake is small but it makes up for it with its exceptional beauty. Surrounding the epoynmous lake is a walking trail filled with flowers. There's not much to document within the park, although flying your drone at higher altitudes will still give you a good view of downtown Tulsa.
