Camden Drone Flying
Locations Map
1. Cooper River Park
Cooper Park is a riverfront park right along the Cooper River, one of the tributaries of the Delaware River. It has open fields near the river where you should be able to safely fly a drone. A flight along the Cooper River is also a great way to catch photos of the Philadelphia skyline.
2. Roebling Park
Roebling Park along the Delaware River in Burlington County is a great place to fly, with scenic views of the river and the small town of Fieldsboro. Adjacent to the park is the Roebling Museum which sits on the site of the former Roebling factory, which manufactured steel rope for many suspension bridges across the country (including the iconic Brooklyn Bridge). Some remnants of the stations that were used to transfer these cables from the factory to the river still stand.
3. Newton Lake Park
A beautiful respite in the middle of Haddon Township, Newton Lake Park has immaculately maintained open fields, walking trails, and a small lake. The trees lining the lake are especially lovely during summer and autumn. There is a lot of wildlide near the lake, so be particularly careful about where you take off and land your drone.
4. Pyne Poynt Park
Pyne Point Park along the Delaware River is a relatively small park with sparse trees and a few sports fields. The riverfront area gets dirty periodically, but the park itself has a few pristine spots. This is a good spot to fly your drone but we recommend going with a visual observer to help ward away the typical crowds.
5. Freedom Pier
Freedom Pier in Gloucester is another great spot for taking photographs and flying a drone out into the Delaware River. You can also catch photos of the nearby Walt Whitman suspesion bridge that connects Gloucester and Philadelphia.
