1. Tribble Mill Park

Trible Mill Park is a great spot for nature photography, although you will have to travel a good deal out of Atlanta. The park has dense woods, lakes, streams, a gorgeous waterfall, and numerous hiking trails. The tranquility and large open spaces of Trible Mill Park is certainly worth the drive.

2. Piedmont Park

The urban Piedmont Park is only a short distance from downtown Atlanta’s northeastern side. It’s an oasis for anyone who wants to escape the nearby concrete jungle. The park offers a lot of useful amenities for visitors. The star attraction for drones must be Lake Clara Meer. There you can capture striking sights of the midtown skyline against the still blue water. Other attractions for flying fun and aerial photography are the two open green spaces, The Meadow, and Oak Hill.

3. Fayette Flyers Field (AMA)

North of Peachtree City is a dedicated space for R/C drone enthusiasts, Fayette Flyers Field. The AMA airfield has a lake it uses for floatplanes, but the club welcomes all aircraft, including drones. There are two runways. One is the geotextile primary runway and the other is grass. It’s a fantastic place to practice advanced flying skills and make new friends with others who share similar interests. New applicants must have an AMA membership to join the Fayette Flyers Field.

4. Murphey Candler Park

The 135-acre Murphey Candler Park offers something for everyone with its plethora of recreational amenities. The favorite attractions for drone operators are the areas surrounding the dense tree-lined lake and nature trails. The flying and filming potential is incredible, and the park is abundant with wildlife. Please note that this area is a class D (controlled) airspace.

5. Brook Run Park

Located just north of Atlanta, Brook Run Park is a massive park with walking trails, a soccer field, a golf course, and a treetop amusement park. The heavily wooded biking trail is a great spot to fine-tune your advanced drone flight skills, especially if you fly an FPV drone. The park is also massive and diverse enough for breathtaking aerial photography.
