Fly Your Drone With Confidence

Fly Your Drone With Confidence

Do you fly your drone in cities? If so, you’ve certainly come across restricted airspace. You can often get authorization to fly in this airspace but it’s still nerve-racking if you don’t have the right knowledge. Our course will give you peace-of-mind about exactly which airspace you can fly in and under what conditions. We use 3D models to give you the confidence to take on more challenging flights that will make your work shine.

From Our Students Here is what they are saying about this course

This course is great! I'm more confident than ever, I passed every practice test I took, and more importantly passed with an 88 with no hiccups thanks to this course... and even better I just misread most of my misses! This course is absolutely awesome and I've told some friends looking in photography to take this course!

Victor Paz

Victor Paz

Ok .. here's the deal: I took my FAA Part 107 exam yesterday and passed with a 98%. I missed 1 question! This course was truly the foundation for everything that I based my studying upon in order to pass the exam. While I was rather new to theses subjects, I found it helpful to go back and repeat the topics that I found a bit challenging in order to solidify my understanding. Trust me, if you don't get it the first time you'll realize that Greg is really thorough in his approach that he'll cover the things that didn't stick initially. I know because I had asked him a question about airspace and upon reviewing that section again I realized my question was already answered in one of the lessons (Sorry about that, Greg!). Great course, great instructor, great everything! Do yourself a favor and learn the material through Greg - don't just memorize it. I truly believe I will be a better pilot because of Greg.

Greg is an amazing teacher! This was a very comprehensive course. With the help of this course I just took the part 107 exam and PASSED first time. I feel far more confident in my flying abilities and knowledge of how to read aeronautical maps, charts, weather, METAR, and so much more. I'd highly recommend this course to anyone looking to become a more responsible, skilled, safer, and more informed, unmanned aircraft pilot.

I came into this course already having taken a competitor course. I can say after that I knew everything I needed to pass the 107 exam. My first impression of and mental reactions to this course was "Too Much Information... you don't need to know all this to pass the test". Thankfully I was patient and gave the instructor the benefit of the doubt because there is a major difference between the other course and this one which can be summed up in the following. This course will give you more than enough information to MASTER the actual knowledge and be a competent professional in the UAV/FAA world. ABSOLUTELY AWESOME COURSE AND I'M NOW LOVING IT! I recommend this material to ALL UAV pilots who want to master the information and become safe, responsible and professional commercial drone pilots. WELL DONE!

Drone and Airplane Pilot, Flight Instructor

Hi, I'm Greg or Professor R as my students call me.

I have been an aviation professional since the early 2000s. I currently hold the following FAA certificates: Certified Flight Instructor, Commercial Pilot (for single and multi engine), and UAS Remote Pilot. I have worked for two of the biggest aeronautical universities in the country (managing flight training programs of up to 500 students and 50 aircraft) and in teaching roles as an adjunct professor. I now concentrate on educating the next generation of manned and unmanned pilots by creating online courses.

I truly enjoy teaching both in the classroom and online as well as sharing my knowledge using newer technology. I intend to help bridge the gap between the manned and unmanned aircraft industry to increase safety.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Science and a Masters Degree in Aviation Human Factors, both from the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, FL.

When I am not teaching, you can find me running in the beautiful mountains surrounding Prescott, AZ.

FAQ Have questions? Get the answers below. You can also contact us.

Who needs a Part 107 license?

Anyone who flies a drone for commercial purposes anywhere in the United States must have a Part 107 license from the FAA. The FAA has a broad definition of what commercial means and you should be certified if you make money from drones (including monetization from ads on YouTube, etc). Real estate professionals, roofers, photographers, mappers, influencers, and first responders are all using drones to increase their results.

Who is eligible for a Part 107 license?

Almost everyone can become a Part 107 certified drone pilot. You need to be at least 16 years old, be physically and mentally fit to fly a drone, and be able to speak and write English. You do not need to be a US citizen. If you meet these requirements, then you need to pass the 60 question Part 107 exam to get your license.

What happens if I need help?

No problem. Our instructors are available to help you with questions and give you the answer you need.

How many hours does it take to study for the test?

The FAA recommends 20 hours of studying to pass the Part 107 exam. Our course is 12.5 hours, so it's sufficient when combined with light reading. Most other courses are closer to 5 hours.

Can I use this course to become current every two years?

Yes, absolutely. The recurrent exam only covers certain topics from the original course and we highlighted those for you. You also still have access to the initial videos. Helpful if you need a quick refresher.

How much does it cost to take the exam?

The Part 107 exam costs roughly $150 to take and it's administered by an FAA authorized center. We don't get any of your testing fee. The testing fee is non-refundable, so make sure you study before taking it. If you fail the exam, you will need to wait 2 full weeks before you can retake it.

Where can I take the exam?

The FAA maintains a list of authorized testing facilities. There are testing centers in most metropolitan centers in all 50 states. Some people find it helpful to signup for a test date in advance to motivate themselves to buckle down and study.

Do I need to buy anything else to study for the test?

Other than signing up to take the test, there are no other required materials. Our course is comprehensive and it includes everything you need including study materials and test questions.

Can I write this course off on my taxes?

Many of our students are able to deduct our course from their taxes - especially if it's a business expense. It depends on the reason you’re taking the course. Consult your tax accountant to see if you qualify.

Do you work with corporations?

Absolutely. We can work with companies of any size. Please email us with your requirements.
