1. Pelahatchie Shore Park
The Pelahatchie Shore Park is a short drive from downtown Jackson and offers an excellent view of the Barnett Reservoir. The park has plenty of open green space for flying your drone. You can fly over the lake if you’re feeling bold.
2. The Pecan Grove
The Pecan Grove is a small park located north of Jackson that is primarily used as a venue for weddings and other events. It is mostly just a bare grassy field, which makes it perfect for a casual afternoon of flying your drone around.
3. Elton Swamp
The Elton Swamp in Jackson is an off-road riding park for ATVs. It is an incredible spot for drone footage if you can catch the vehicles in action. Just remember to keep your drone a good distance away from the crowds and to ask for permission from the participants before recording any videos.
Daytime is much preferred for drone flight at Elton Swamp given the dense residential area jusa cross the rado from the ATV Park.
4. Byram Swinging Bridge
The historical Byram Bridge is a suspension bridge that connects the Hinds and Rankin Counties. With parks on either side, you can easily find a spot to fly your drone and catch photos of the bridge over the Pearl River. The surrounding foliage looks amazing, especially in the summer and autumn months.
5. Sheppard Brothers Park
The Sheppard Brothers Park in Jackson offers a wide open space that is rarely crowded, making it a great spot for casual drone flight. It also does not have many trees, so even beginner drone pilots should be comfortable flying here. Among the park’s facilities are a basketball court, a walking trail, and a pavilion for indoor events.
