1. Lake Chehaw
For the best view of Lake Chehaw, we suggest launching your drone from Chehaw Park.This is a popular boating and fishing spot and should be large enough to safely fly a drone over. From the lake, your drone should be able to see the dam in the distance, as well as the surrounding parks and golf courses.
2. Lake Loretta
Lake Loretta, close to downtown Albany, is a place that many locals go to for walking, jogging, and general relaxation. The lake is very close to houses, so we suggest restricting your drone flight to the airspace above the lake. Maintain a good distance as the lake is teeming with wildlife.
3. Pirate’s Cove Nature Park
With dense forests, various walking trails, boardwalks, and waterways, the Pirate’s Cove park has everything that nature lovers are looking for. Launching a drone from the nature trails could be challenging, so it’s best to do it from the road where there is good clearance. This is possibly one of the best spots for aerial photography in Albany.
