Iowa State Drone Laws
These laws apply in the entire state.

House Bill 2289 (2014)

It is unlawful for any state agency to use UAVs to enforce traffic laws except under certain circumstances and only after securing an official warrant. Information collected by UAS without a warrant cannot be used in courts unless collected in a manner that is consistent with federal or state laws.

It is unlawful to operate a UAV in, on, or above a county jail, municipal holding facility, secure facility for the detention or custody of juveniles, community-based correctional facility, or institution under the department of corrections and any contiguous real property.
